This website has been the best thing that every happened to me as a drama club teacher. I run a small before school drama club at the elementary. There are so many amazing resources. The kids loved all the plays and activities. The monthly subscription is completely worth it! It is something that I will use year after year!

What an incredible site. I love teaching but one of my struggles is finding content and decent material. I am always hesitant when it comes to spending money because we all prefer the "free stuff" but I decided to take the plunge and start investing more in better material. Since doing so I am so much less stressed before a lesson and my classes seem to run a lot smoother, the kids really enjoy the material and I am a stronger and more confident teacher because of it. I remember coming home after my first "Drama Notebook infused lesson," specifically, 20 Practice Scenes for Pairs and Two Lines Game and saying to my husband, "Wow! I think that was my best class yet!" So thank you to all the amazing content creators, this material is amazing and worth every cent! Can't wait to teach my next class!

The Drama Notebook is amazing! I was a new Drama Club sponsor this year and I had no idea what I was doing. The Drama Notebook made life so much easier. The activities and scripts are fun engaging and easy for the overwhelmed teacher to use. I will definitely be renewing my subscription next year!

I teach drama in a school in Italy and these materials helped me to find a story the kids enjoyed very much, not so difficult but also challenging.

A pleasure to use this site. Many creative ideas. More information for 2nd language learners who tend to be less creative would be appreciated. I'll subscribe later on again. Very useful site for any Drama teachers out there, whether qualified or not. Thank you.

Hi Zagrya, thanks so much for your review. I'm glad the site was helpful for you. We actually have plenty of material for ELL students that I'd be happy to help you locate. When you next resubscribe, feel free to reach out to me any time at [email protected] and I'll point you in the direction of excellent materials for 2nd language learners! --Julia, member support

I can't praise Drama Notebook highly enough. I'll admit I was skeptical when I first heard about it, as a lot of drama curriculum I've seen in the past has been either common sense, too complicated, or boring. Hearing that it was a subscription model gave me even more pause. BUT after attending a free workshop out of pure curiosity, I was impressed with the creators' passion and skills so I gave it a try. I was wrong to ever doubt it! This site has been SUCH a wealth of information, from practical techniques to teaching/classroom management to super easy-to-use scripts and materials. It takes all the guess work out of it. So grateful for Drama Notebook!

Starting a Drama Club at a high school from scratch with $50, I was able to access loads of materials that worked. I initially focussed on games and graduated to skits and short scenes. The number of students varied every meeting, from 2 students to 12, and I was happy with the scope of materials. I appreciated the amount of comedy, especially to start.

I subscribed to the site because I'm not a drama teacher but I needed some really good resources for a particular unit. The resources are fantastic with heaps of great ideas and fun scripts. The Shakespeare resources are very useful too for teaching a text in an interesting way especially for the younger years. I highly recommend the site especially if you are not a drama teacher and suddenly have the daunting task of teaching a drama unit. It's actually really fun.

I subscribed to this website because I teach 6th grade after school drama. It was so awesome to have a website that has everything I needed instead of having to use multiple websites to find things. Drama Notebook has it ALL!! My students especially loved the improv games and scripts!! We would read through the scripts for Reader's Theatre and the kids absolutely loved them. It was super easy to access and I loved how the scripts showed how many characters were in the play/skit. That made it really easy to gauge the amount of students who would be participating in the reading.

As a media teacher, it is a great jumping off point to get the students comfortable in front of the camera by doing a monologue, Santa letter, 2 or 3 person scene. And I've even gotten a small class involved in filming a play. Terrific resource - so grateful for it!

What an amazing resource for plays! It was recommended to us in a summer intensive by one of the teachers who was participating in the intensive. It has been invaluable this year for picking our class play and I will be recommending it to other teachers with whom I work.

As a first-time director, I was terrified of the daunting task of choosing a play. Especially with my cast (ages 5-14), I wasn't sure where to find something fun/silly and also thought-provoking and beautiful. I was amazed that the Drama Notebook had such a great selection of well-written plays! The short descriptions of what to expect really helped too - I only needed to read a few plays to find two that worked for my show. I'm excited to see what my students come up with, and I really don't think I could've done it without the Drama Notebook. Thank you!

I am a grade 5 and 6 teacher in Sydney Australia of 10-12 yo boys. I have been teaching for 45 years and still love it. This year I have taken on role of teaching all 8 classes at my school in drama / speaking and listening. It’s a new experience for me and Drama Notebook has been a godsend. What a fantastic resource. With my Year 6 classes I worked on a theme in Term 4 “Murder Mystery and Mayhem" and I introduced them to Shakespeare! They had to present a soliloquy or duologue to their class. They absolutely loved the comedic duologues. I think Romeo and Juliet was their favourite. I hope to use more mystery themed resources from drama notebook this year. Year 5 were working on a poetry unit and Christmas theme. They loved reciting some Spike Milligan poems and then performing short Christmas play scripts which I found on Drama Notebook. I’m now on school holidays and enjoying our summer break. Back at school in February! Wishing you a happy new year and I look forward to enjoying more Drama Notebook resources.

This site was incredibly helpful with resources for a challenging group of students who usually do not “buy in” to school. I was able to give small groups scripts and they enjoyed working on them and their final performance was fun and on-task!

We subscribed to Drama Notebook because we were tasked with starting a new performing arts program at a public middle school. The resources for exercises, lesson plans, and assessing progress were truly valuable. I don't think we could have launched the program as easily without the help of this site.

Games, lessons and lists are easy to follow and helpful to add to a collection of prompts and scene development for Improv. The site is user friendly. The monologue resources, especially the monologues written by students are super helpful.
