Clowns always have routines that they practice over and over. Most clown gags involve ordinary items and physical humor. Here are eight funny routines for your novice clowns to play with and practice. Use these as a springboard to inspire students to come up with their own routines involving everyday objects and circumstances!
Example of a clown gag:
World’s Clumsiest Juggler
Pull three ping pong balls out of your clown costume. Hold them all at once. Try tossing them up in the air and catching them—they scatter everywhere. Pull a couple more balls out of costume when the first ones have gotten too far to easily retrieve. Keep repeating that until there are no hidden balls in your costume. All balls have been lost. Pantomime juggling successfully with a big smile.
