Moose, Penguin, and Snowy share their Christmas wishes with each other in this sweet and silly puppet play for kids. Snowy wants a snowboard, Penguin wants to gather with friends, and Moose dreams of being one of Santa’s reindeer. Elementary students will enjoy exploring this puppet play in class or performing it for an audience. It would also be great fun for teens to perform for younger students.

CHARACTERS:
MOOSE
PENGUIN
SNOWY (Could be a snow owl or a snowman)
Moose: Christmas is almost here. Have you made your Christmas wish yet?
Penguin: Christmas wish? What’s that?
Moose: You get one wish every year at Christmas.
Penguin: You do??
Moose: Yes. Do you have a wish?
Penguin: No. I didn’t know about that! What are you wishing for?
Moose: I’ve always wanted to be one of Santa’s reindeer.
Penguin: What? A reindeer? Why would you wish for that? If you become a reindeer, will we still be friends?
Moose: I don’t see why not. We’ve been friends for so long. I can’t think of any reason why we wouldn’t be friends.
Penguin: I mean, why would you ever want to be a reindeer? You’re such a great moose. I heard reindeer are stuck up and mean!
Moose: Really? What about Rudolph?
Penguin: Rudolph is great! But all of the other reindeer were mean to him and wouldn’t let him play in any reindeer games.
Moose: I forgot about that! You’re right! What if I only hang out with Rudolph?
Penguin: That’s a good idea! Rudolph needs a friend. But who am I going to hang out with if you leave?
(Snowy enters.)
Snowy: Hi friends. What’s up? Excited about Christmas?
Penguin: We’re talking about our one Christmas wish.
Snowy: Christmas wish? What’s that?
Moose: You get one wish every Christmas. If you’ve been good all year, your wish will be granted.
Penguin: What are you going to wish for?
Snowy: I don’t know. I didn’t know that I got one wish.
Penguin: I didn’t know either until Moose told me.
Snowy: I know what I’m going to wish for.
Moose & Penguin: What??
Snowy: I’m going to wish for a new snowboard. Mine broke last year. What are you guys going to wish for?
