B. Right when I took off my shoe the bus driver slammed on the brakes and my shoe went flying to the back of the bus.
A. Why didn’t you go get it?
B. We can’t stand up when the bus is moving.
A. I mean before you left.
B. I was going to, but everyone was pushing, and the bus driver was telling us to hurry, so I just left it there.
A. Is that your only pair of shoes?
B. I’ve got soccer cleats, but those would be stupid to wear to school.
A. Yeah, I guess so.
B. Don’t worry though. I’ve got a plan if it’s not there.
A. What?
B. I’ll just go barefoot.
A. Don’t you think your feet will get cold?
B. Yeah, but at least they won’t be hot.
