15+ characters. Approximately 7 minutes running time. Fun version of Snow White that includes rap!

Fairy tales meet hip hop in this delightful version of Snow White. Students can play characters or rappers, and make up their own dance moves to go along with the raps! This play has a lot of flexibility in terms of cast size because you can add as many characters as you like. We have three other short fairy tale rap plays, so some students can play characters in one play, and rappers in other ones, allowing everyone a chance to have a colorful, meaningful part!

Once upon a time, there lived a very nasty queen. Every day she walked in and spoke to her magic mirror.

(QUEEN enters.)

MIRROR:
(aside) Not again! She asks me the same thing every day. She’s going to get it this time.

QUEEN:
Mirror, mirror, on the wall,
Who’s the fairest chick of all?

MIRROR:
/Ev’ry /day, the /same re/quest,
And /so I’ll /tell you /who’s the /best,

Snow /White was /lovely, /that was /true,

(SNOW WHITE enters side stage, waves weather pointer then exits.)

QUEEN:
Snow White more beautiful than me?  Mirror, you’re sacked. (MIRROR exits)
As for Snow White, huh, I’ll get rid of her!

(QUEEN exits.)

NARRATOR 2:
The queen then issued a command that Snow White should be taken into the forest and left there, never to return.

SETTING 2: Inside a cottage in the forest. Clothing on the floor.

NARRATOR 1:
The forest was dark, and Snow White was frightened. Then she came across a cottage. The door was unlocked so she went inside.

(SNOW WHITE enters.)

RAPPERS:
A/round the /table, /seven /chairs,
And /seven /beds were /up the /stairs,
/Seven /beanbags /round the /telly,
/Seven /dishes /rather /smelly.

SNOW WHITE:
It looks as if seven people live here.

NARRATOR 2:
Der!

SNOW WHITE:
What a mess! Urk! (picks up piece of clothing) Seven messy LADS by the looks of things.

NARRATOR 1:
Just then, the seven lads walked in, dropping their bags on the floor.

(LADS enter.)

They /just could /not be/lieve their /eyes,

Are /you the /weather /girl, Snow /White?’
