SETTING 1:  An office.

(MANAGER & SECRETARY enter)

NARRATOR:
The manager of the travel agency, ‘Novel Travel’ knew that his business was not going well. People seemed to be bored with the places he was offering and there were not many bookings being made. He spoke to his secretary and told her that he was very worried.

MANAGER:
I’m very worried.

RAPPERS:

MANAGER:
Yes! Outer space. That’s the future!

SECRETARY:
Outer space?

MANAGER:
Yes! Think about it. We’ve had men on the moon, and we’ve had missions to Mars, so this is where travel is going to go. All those planets out there – it could be any of them!

SECRETARY:
Well, yes…perhaps.

MANAGER:
No perhaps about it. But… we’ll go one better. My idea is, and we’ll keep this a secret... (beckoning)

(MANAGER whispers in SECRETARY’s ear)

SECRETARY:
(frowning) How would you do that?

(MANAGER whispers in ear again)

SECRETARY:
Ooh! Clever!

MANAGER:
So, so let’s get working on it. Now, first of all, we’ll need a spaceship builder.

SECRETARY:
OK, I’ll google it. (tapping phone) I like the name of this one. It’s called ‘Out of This World’.

NARRATOR:
So the secretary phoned ‘Out of This World’ and in no time a spaceship builder walked in.

(SPACESHIP BUILDER enters)

SSB:
So you want to build a spaceship?

MANAGER:
Yep, That’s the idea.

SSB:
OK. Firstly, where do you want to go?

MANAGER:
Well, it’s a secret.

SSB:
Yes, but I need to know.

MANAGER:
OK.

(MANAGER beckons SSB over & whispers in his ear)

SSB:
(frowning) How would you do that?

(MANAGER whispers in SSB’s ear again)

SSB:
Ooh! Clever! OK, I’ll go and work on it.

(SSB exits)
