7-20 characters.6 pages long. Approximately 5 minutes running time. Ghost story play for children that includes ‘raps.’

Are you looking for something totally different for your drama or music student? This Halloween play includes some clever ‘raps’ that go along with the action..

Students can play characters or rappers, and make up their own dance moves to go along with the raps! This play has a lot of flexibility in terms of cast size because you can add as many characters as you like. We have several other short rap plays, so some students can play characters in one play, and rappers in other ones, allowing everyone a chance to have a colorful, meaningful part!

NARRATOR:
Eddie & Mike have come to an old house to collect spiders. Mike is not happy.

MIKE:
Are you sure it's alright to go in here?

EDDIE:
‘Course it is. No one’s lived here for years. Come on.

MIKE:
Ooh, I dunno.

RAPPERS:

EDDIE:
It’ll be fine. Get with it,Mike

(EDDIE opens gate.)

MIKE:

EDDIE:
It's only the gate. Come on, Mike.

MIKE:
Yerk! Everything's overgrown with weeds and vines and creepers.

EDDIE:
Yeah, it's a great place. I found a fantastic Emperor Gum caterpillar and a massive case moth in here the other day.

MIKE:
But do we really have to go INSIDE the house?

EDDIE:
'Course we do. Robbie Murphy reckons this house has the biggest and hairiest tarantulas and I need two more for my spider collection.

MIKE:
But Dennis Dunstan reckons this house is haunted!

EDDIE:
Hmph! The only thing that's haunted is Dennis Dunstan's brain!

MIKE:
I don't know. I can just imagine ghosts creeping all around this place.

EDDIE:
Ghosts? Don’t be stupid. You know there's no such thing as ghosts. Now are you coming or aren’t you?

MIKE:
(sigh) Alright, alright, I'm coming.

(EDDIE opens door.)

SOUND EFFECTS:
Door creaks.

MIKE:
Aargh!
(EDDIE exits with MIKE creeping nervously behind.)

RAPPERS:
/Through the /door, they /went in/side,

/Lots of /cobwebs /every/where,
But /what else /would they /find in /there?
